About Bai

The Bai story

Styling Beginnings

Bai began with a goal to buy a house and a passion for saving money. Bai is Talissa Bailey, a twenty eight year old interior stylist, born and bred in Melbourne. Talissa discovered her creative bliss pouring over colour charts, staging beautiful interiors and doing the dirty work of house renovations. Not one to take a standard path, Talissa has spent the last seven years building a broad range of interior styling skills and knowledge. She also began an interior design degree, and started her own business, Bai Interiors & Homewares.

A beautiful home is uniquely individual. We never say ‘everything must go’. If you have a cherished old chair, or a table, we’ll work with it, weaving it into your design aesthetic. Our clients are always amazed by the transformation.

Practical Experience

These days we are surrounded by great design, but we aren’t always sure how to create it. Talissa started out with a desire to learn the practical skills to transform spaces and create different moods. Reimagining space with colour, texture and the combination of furniture and objects, has been an apprenticeship for Talissa. She hasn’t looked back. Her practical skills for styling are now in demand, offering interior styling, event styling and for-sale styling across Melbourne.

Bai History

  • 2011

At the age of 18, I made the decision to save as much as I could, so I could buy a house by 20. At the ripe of old age of 20, I did! I became passionate about design, investments and understanding the housing market.

  • 2015

The beginning of my journey into the exciting world of interior styling. I confidently completed a major re design of a complete home interior, after purchasing my second house. My love for interior styling and decorating was born.

  • 2015 - 2016

I eagerly studied and learnt the basics of style, colour and texture, from the gurus of interior design. I began my formal training in Interior Design in 2016 at Holmeglen. From 2015 I began to gain clients and I completed a number of interior styling and decorating projects for Melbourne clients.

  • 2016 - Now

In 2016 I decided to pursue a professional identity in design. Bai Interiors & Homewares began quietly. I started plans for the design of a line of personalised bedding for people to purchase online. I started @baiinteriors (the Instagram page for Bai) in 2016 and it quickly gained the attention of some big brands, such as Fantastic Furniture, Focus On Furniture, Schotts, & Elegance Tiles.
